About Us

History : Grinter Johnson Limited has been formed from two long established independent firms with its  office located near the centre of Plymouth in Devon. We have three principals and ten dedicated team members.

 

The principals are David Pinder BSc(Hons),ACA, Diane Trumfield ACA and Guy Northcott Bsc(Econ), FCA.

David has been  in practice since 1990 having obtained an honours degree from Birmingham University. David is an avid tennis player and is married with two children. He was a partner in SG for twelve years prior to the merger. 

Diane qualified with Geoffrey L Johnson & Co. in 1984 and has a broad experience of the small and medium sized entities.

Guy qualified with KPMG in Exeter and moved to join Geoffrey L Johnson & Co. in 1990. Guy is interested in the voluntary sector. He is married with two children, one cat and a lurcher.

 

 

The staff  the skills and personalities found are as varied as the number of individuals employed. The many longstanding members of staff work along side the newest recruits. Each staff member has constant access to training, working in teams to ensure continuity in approach.

 

Our clients range from private individuals requiring the preparation of an annual tax return, through sole traders and partnerships to limited companies. We offer a fully comprehensive business development programme to assist clients in growing their businesses and complete business health checks of many of our clients annually.

 

Our approach is to provide a professional, personal and value for money service. We develop a close working relationship with our clients to help them achieve success in reaching their objectives. The strong links the partners and staff forge with our clients enables proactive, relevant and cost-effective relationships to prosper.

 

The principals have always been based in the South West , gaining an intrinsic knowledge of the area, the regional community and local business. We have widespread working knowledge of the area and have developed a very good working relationship with the local Tax and VAT inspectors as well as bank and building society managers.

 

Membership of a professional training association gives us access to more specialist knowledge and experience ensuring we keep up to date with latest developments in matters affecting us and our clients.

 

As well as providing all the services you would expect from an accountancy firm, we also offer training in the use of various bookkeeping packages.

 

We use the latest technology enabling us to provide the highest level of service at competitive costs.
